Had a really great time with all of my friends at SXSW 2011. I was so happy that everyone was able to come back in town for some fun!
We got a little camera happy and took more photos of ourselves than the events and such. Plenty of free booze and swag.

Best thing from SXSW 2011: Mia Moretti & Caitlin Coe. Mia is a badass DJ, and Caitlin puts on a show with her electric violin. Youtube that shit.
SXSW DAY #1
Went to see Rye Rye at the BMF Fast Company Grill party at Moonshine (3rd & Rio Grande). Free UV Vodka cocktails and a good time with friends. They ran out of plastic cups and started serving drinks in mason jars, just my style.
I love SXSW, and I love Texas.

South by Southwest (SXSW) Music and Film Interactive is pleased to announce a significant addition to their film conference program this year, “A Conversation with Paul Reubens!”
Reubens, best known around the world as the iconic Pee-Wee Herman is soon to hit TV again in HBO’s special broadcast of “The Pee-wee Herman Show on Broadway.”
Reubens will discuss his unusual career, life and unique approach to humor.
SXSW takes place March 11th-20th.

Have any of you guys been to SXSW festival in Austin before? I wanted to know if it is necessary to get that expensive music badge ($700) or if I could just pay at the door for the shows I want go to. Or maybe there is some less expensive “pass” type thing I can also buy. I’m conisdering going this year, but I’ll be on a tight budget and I don’t think I can go if I have to get that $700 pass.
Ok, I have had an amazing time at SXSW several years in a row, all without buying much of anything. Free booze, free swag, free food, free parties…all a bad ass time. You can check out my blog from last March to see a few photos I posted.
I recently read a well-written tumblr (by @wornwhite)post about going to SXSW on the cheap. I would highly recommend checking it out. This girl put a lot of effort into her post, and I couldn’t agree with her more.

Join Backupify, HubSpot and oneforty for a happy hour party on the patio at Fadó Irish Pub in Austin during SXSW Interactive on Sunday, March 13th! There will be good times, snacks* and perfect pints of Guinness (plus other beer, too.) Happy Hour starts at 5pm and runs until 7pm. Complimentary beer for the first 200 guests. We’re three Boston-based companies but everyone attending South by Southwest Interactive Festival is invited to join us. You do not need to call Boston home to attend the party.

BeerCamp is back this year at Emo’s (603 Red River St.) and they have all the beer you can drink! Ok, so maybe not ALL the beer you can drink but it’s FREE nonetheless. Mark your schedules for Monday, March 15th, 2010 because BeerCamp will begin beer drinking festivities at 7:30PM. Did I mention they are having a BEER PONG TOURNAMENT?! Yep, and you can go and sign-up your team and RSVP right here. BTW, love the website’s design.
